Our care teams are monitoring updates of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To date, there have been no confirmed cases or cases under investigation in either of our facilities. However, since the spread of the virus in increasing daily in Canada, we have decided to act proactively by taking the following steps:
1.Large gatherings within the homes, including performances by visiting musicians, are postponed until further notice.
2.Visitors that have traveled outside of the provinces withing the last 21 days are asked not to enter the building.
3.Visitors who are ill or recovering from an illness (even the common cold) are asked not to enter the building until they have fully recovered.
4.Residents who require a family/friend to assist during mealtime may continue to do so, but no additional Mealtime guests please.
We wish to stress that the above measures are out of an abundance of caution. We have had no cases of COVID-19 in Pioneer Lodge & House. We are requesting the cooperation of all visitors to protect our residents, staff, and their families from this risk.
We understand that events like this can be stressful for our residents and their families. We are actively following the recommendations of Alberta Health to keep our practices as current and well informed as possible.
